In fact, the American hotelier could not have found a better location to set up its hotel in Reykjavik. a new address in the Icelandic capitalThe Iceland Parliament, Curio Collection by Hilton is the fourth hotel in the Curio Collection, following on from a Hilton, a Canopy by Hilton and, already, a Curio Collection hotel, the Reykjavik Konsulat Hotel. Since the beginning of January, this collection of upmarket boutique hotels has welcomed a new member to its ranks: the Iceland Parliament, Curio Collection by Hilton, a hotel with 163 rooms and suites featuring contemporary design. In addition, part of the largest private art collection is on display inside the hotel, offering guests unique access to renowned Icelandic art.
Overlooking the central square of Iceland's capital Austurvöllur, the hotel is strategically located, as its name suggests, on the doorstep of the Althing, the national parliament. But it's also a stone's throw from the town hall and cathedral, and just a stone's throw from the old port and the city's main tourist attractions, as well as the Harpa centre, which hosts conferences and events. " Developing this property in such a valuable location in the heart of the city was a long and meticulous process." said Helgi Vigfusson, General Manager of the hotel.
The Iceland Parliament complex has invested seven buildings, some newly constructed, some rebuilt and some restoredThese include the headquarters of Iceland Telecom, a school for young girls and Independence Hall. Some of these re-created locations will help to make the hotel a prime venue for corporate meetings and events. While the Ladies School offers the perfect setting for formal and informal events for up to a hundred people, the recently refurbished Independence Hall is set to become one of the city's most elegant banqueting halls, for cocktail parties and gala dinners for up to 200 people.
In total, the hotel has a 850 m of meeting space2 and adds to this a vast spa with geothermal thermal baths, a trendy bar, and a restaurant serving local and international specialities whose large windows overlook Austurvöllur square and the statue of Jón Sigurdsson, the father of Icelandic independence.

Its interiors will be renovated under the direction of designer Piet Boon to accommodate just over fifty top-of-the-range rooms, as well as two restaurants, a bar and a spa with an indoor swimming pool.
The Kasteel Gemert Eindhoven also intends to turn this peaceful setting, where guests can take a boat trip along the calm waters of the castle moat, into a key location for businesses where welcome their national and international customers under privileged conditions. In addition to ample parking, the hotel will have an indoor meeting room and a large outdoor area for events.
