Delta to offer free Wi-Fi on most domestic flights from 1 February

" At work, at home and everywhere in between, connectivity is essential to everyday life, and a trip on Delta should be no different "This is the credo of Ed Bastian, CEO of the American company, speaking at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. It's an ambition that will become a reality from February 1st next year, when Delta plans to offer a fast, free Wi-Fi connection " on most domestic flights ". A first for a major US carrier, according to Delta's management.

International and regional flights by the end of 2024

The next stage in Delta's Connected Roadmap is an ambitious one, with the airline set to offer wifi on board more than 700 devices equipped with Viasat by end of 2023. A service that will rapidly expand beyond US borders, with Delta's ambition to " full availability on international flights and regional by end of 2024 ".

This democratisation of in-flight wifi does not mean that the airline intends to cut back on the quality of connectivity offered to passengers. In any case, this is the philosophy of Ed Bastian, who assures us: " We don't just want free Wi-Fi to provide a basic service - we want it to transform the whole on-board experience. It's imperative that all customers on board can enjoy their favourite content as they would at home, and we've put this to the test in a number of ways. meticulous testing to make this possible ".
