2022 marked an improvement in business for Airbus and Boeing. The two aircraft manufacturers have just published higher figures for deliveries and orders last year. Figures which prove that the recovery in world air transport is real.

This is obviously less than we were aiming for, but given the complexity of the operating environment, I would like to thank the teams and our partners for their hard work and the final result." said Guillaume Faury, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus. " The significant order intake covering all our aircraft families, including cargo aircraft, reflects the strength and competitiveness of our product range. We are continuing our ramp-up path to meet our order backlog. " he said.
The most popular single-aisle aircraft - A320 and B737
The most popular aircraft is the Airbus A320 with 576 units, followed by the Airbus A350 with 60 models.
As for orders placed last year, the A320neo leads the way with 888 new orders, followed by 127 new firm orders for the A220. In the widebody family, the European aircraft manufacturer booked 63 orders, including 44 for the A350.
At Boeingthe number of deliveries was more modest, with 480 aircraft. This represents a significant increase compared with 2021, when Boeing delivered just 340 aircraft. The American aircraft manufacturer has received orders for 774 aircraft.
All in all, Boeing's official order book at 31 December stood at 4,578 aircraft, including 3,628 for the Group alone. Boeing737 MAX. Around 80% of deliveries in 2022 were already B737 models. The airline has also delivered 31 Boeing B787 Dreamliner long-haul aircraft.
