The mobilisation against pensions will lead to a new strike call for the day of 16 February. However, it is expected to have less of an impact on travel in the Ile-de-France region than the previous strike days. This is the conclusion to be drawn from the 48-hour forecasts published on Tuesday by RATP.
It provides for a near-normal to normal traffic with regard to metro Paris. The same applies to travel by bus and in tramway. As for networks RERRATP expects 2 out of every three trains on the RER B - the interconnection at Gare du Nord will even be maintained on 16 February - and on normal traffic for the RER A.
On the SNCFThere will be some disruption on 16 February. On average, there will be 4 trains out of 5 on the INOUI TGV network. In detail, traffic is expected to be almost normal on the North, East and Atlantic routes. Two out of three trains should be running on the South-East route, as well as on the OUIGO and province-to-province networks. Daytime Intercity services will be running at the rate of one train in two, as will TER services. However, SNCF warns: " TER traffic will be severely disrupted in all regions. Details of regional transport plans will be communicated by SNCF Voyageurs in each region." .
Internationally, the Lyria network will be the most affected, with 1 train in 2. The other operators - Eurostar, Thalys and other international lines - will see almost normal traffic levels.
In the air transport sector, disruption is expected to affect not only Paris Orlywhere 30% flights are expected to be cancelled on 16 February, as are several regional hubs. To a lesser extent (20%), the airports of Toulouse, Marseille, Lyon, Montpellier and Nantes will also be affected.
