With another day of general protests against pension reform - the tenth - scheduled for Thursday 6 April, business travel in France is likely to be disrupted throughout the week. The French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) has asked airlines to reduce their flight schedules, at least for the days of 3 and 4 April.
As for Monday 3 April, Paris-Orly airport is not expected to be affected by cancellations for once. These will be concentrated on the Bordeaux-Mérignac and Marseille-Provence hubs, where flight schedules are expected to be reduced by 20%.
On the other hand disturbances are expected to be heavier on Tuesday 4 April, as Paris-Orly joins Marseille-Provence and Bordeaux-Mérignac on the list of airports affected.
As a result of this strike affecting air traffic control, around 20% flights are expected to be cancelled at each of these hubs. As delays are expected in addition to these cancellations, the DGAC is asking passengers to postpone their journeys and to check with their airline to find out the status of their flight.
