
Turkish Airlines now offers free and unlimited messaging services to all passengers international flights. The only limitation is the availability of internet access. Turkish Airlines has launched its new "Enjoy Limitless Messaging" campaign. The messaging services concerned include WhatsApp, Messenger and iMessage.
The CEO of Turkish Airlines, Bilal Ekşi, said it was a further development in the countless improvements made to on-board service. " Our passengers will be free to send messages to their loved ones. And keep in touch with them without limit" he comments.
However, free messaging comes with a condition: it is only free for passengers who are members of the Turkish Airlines frequent flyer programme, Miles&Smile. However, non-members can benefit by completing the Miles&Smiles membership form available before or during the flight. What's more, you can also join Miles&Smiles, Miles&Smiles Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus members benefit from enhanced free Internet packages.
Generosity underpinned by excellent financial results
Free messaging will be rolled out in stages. Turkish Airlines will first launch this service on its aircraft with Internet access via Turk Telekom, then gradually on all aircraft with an Internet connection.
Turkish Airlines can afford to be generous with its passengers. The airline has announced that by 2022 it will have generated sales of $18.4 billion, 39% higher than in 2019. And above all net profit of US$2.7 billion$.
Last year, Turkish Airlines carried some 72 million passengers. The load factor was 85.8% for domestic flights and 80.1% for international flights.
