China has again eased entry measures into its territory. Since 29 April, the Chinese government no longer requires foreign travellers to present a negative P.C.R. test for the coronavirus. However, the travellers must present the results of an antigen test carried out within 48 hours of boarding the plane. This may be a self-test.
The airlines will not check the results of the tests before boarding, as Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning explained at a press briefing last week. Foreign travellers arriving in China must also complete a health declaration form.. Customs officials will carry out unspecified spot checks.
China has also restored all the facilities granted to international travellers. This includes a 144-hour (5-day) transit visa..
This visa on arrival is granted to travellers from 53 countries (including French-speaking European countries). It allows you to stop in China while in transit to another destination. This visa applies in 20 Chinese cities, including Chengdu, Guangzhou, Kunming, Beijing, Shenzhen and Xiamen.
