3 Questions to Soline De Montrémy, Operational Marketing Director for France at Air France

Air France has introduced a new service concept on its Europe and Mediterranean routes. Its aircraft now offer two distinct products: a Voyageur cabin and a Premium class for passengers who want greater booking flexibility and more comfortable services.

Will Premium Eco and Affaires enable Air France to win back business customers on medium-haul routes?

Business customers are our core target, but the crisis has forced companies to review their travel policies, in particular by having their staff travel in the economy cabin. We have therefore decided to review our offer on the short and medium-haul network. We have adapted our range of fares, with round-trip or one-way fares in the Premium cabin that can be modified and reimbursed free of charge. In Premium Eco, public fares have been reduced by an average of 20 % compared with the previous fares. To preserve the comfort of Premium Business customers and allow them to benefit from more space, the central seat has been neutralised. The product has been available on our Europe and North Africa flights since 28 March, and initial feedback from our customers has been positive. At the same time, in the Voyageur cabin, we are offering a simple product with the essentials of Air France and fares that can be modified at an additional cost.

How much is Air France investing in this recovery?

The redesign of the medium-haul service is one of the levers for restoring the company's profitability. This offer will generate internal savings, without generating additional costs, thanks in particular to a flexible cabin layout: the distribution between Premium Eco and Premium Business as well as between Voyageur and Premium can be adapted to demand. By being attractive both in terms of new products and fares, this offer should enable us to regain market share.

Is a Premium Eco and Business product possible on domestic routes?

On the mainland network, the aircraft are single-cabin. However, the range of fares has been adapted to match those in Europe: for flexible fares, we are offering a second level of fares 15 to 20 % cheaper than before. For our subscribers, we plan to increase the discounts granted to customers to 35 % and we are launching a new subscription card valid for six months.
