Compagnie du Ponant to double its capacity

Known for the elegance and luxury of its three ships, Le Ponant, Le Levant and Le Diamant, Compagnie du Ponant is changing dimension with the forthcoming delivery of two twin liners with 132 cabins, all exterior, from 18 to 38 m2 with private balcony.

The first, Le Boréal, will start sailing in May, with L'Austral due to join the fleet a year later.

After a short trip around the Mediterranean to the Adriatic coast, Le Boréal, as her name suggests, is set to sail the cold waters of Northern Europe, the Baltic and Iceland.
After its launch in 2011, L'Austral will be focusing on the world's warmer waters.

Like the other boats in the fleet, with capacities ranging from 64 passengers on Le Ponant to 90 cruise passengers on Le Diamant, Le Boréal can be privatised for incentive trips, corporate events or private receptions, docked for an evening or, of course, at sea to take advantage of the magic of cruising.

Both ships will feature a number of living areas, lounges, bars, a gourmet restaurant and a large theatre that can accommodate all guests. A swimming pool and a Carita spa will complete the facilities.
