
The British woman Virgin Atlantic aims to capitalise on its recent entry into Skyteam by offering new intercontinental routes. The airline intends to capitalise on the sustained demand for international long-haul travel and to take advantage of a very demanding market.
Virgin passengers should benefit from more than 250,000 additional seats by 2024. across Virgin Atlantic's entire network, compared with 2019.
The most important news is Virgin's arrival in South America for the first time. In May 2024, Virgin will offer a daily Boeing 787-9 flight from London Heathrow to São Paulo.in Brazil. Passengers will be able to start buying tickets for this route in August. Three classes of service will be offered on board.
São Paulo is a key hub in Brazil for Virgin Atlantic's codeshare partner and the South American company LATAM. This partnership offers customers connections to 12 Brazilian airports. These include connections to Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Florianopolis. In London, Brazilian passengers will have access to the Virgin network and its partners in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Bangalore, Dubai and the Maldives in Asia
Bangalore (Bengaluru) to become Virgin Atlantic's third destination and fourth daily service to India. Scheduled to open on 31 March 2024, this Boeing 787-9 service will increase the number of annual seats between the UK and India to 500,000.
