In Dakar, the TER is getting closer to AIBD airport

The Senegalese TER is expected to arrive at Blaise-Diagne international airport (AIDB) at the end of the year. The inauguration of the terminal station has already been celebrated.

Six years old after the inauguration of the new entrance to the Senegal, l'Blaise-Diagne international airport (AIBD) will take on a new dimension in a few months' time. Visit Senegalese TER will serve a new station within the airport hub. A new terminus which was inaugurated in July by Senegalese President Macky Sall.

Expected in December next, this 17 km extension will constitute the second phase of the project, after inaugurating the TER link between Dakar and Diamniadio (38 km) in 2021. In all, the project will serve 14 stations between the Senegalese capital and Blaise-Diagne international airport. The TERs will have a capacity of 500 to 1,000 seats, and will make the journey at a speed of 160 km/h. Business travellers will therefore need 50 minutes to reach the capital after landing at AIBD.
