Lufthansa to improve its short-haul product from 2025 onwards

Lufthansa has announced an upgrade to its in-flight product, which will be available to business travellers from 2025.

Lufthansa has often appeared on websites in recent years, with passengers reporting a sharp deterioration in service - particularly in economy class. German airline reacts by announcing an upgrade to its in-flight product. However, we will have to wait 2025 to take advantage of the new cabin layout on short and medium-haul flights.

The company will successively equip 38 Airbus A320 who are already flying for Lufthansa with the new product, which will have the following features:

  • More space for hand luggage. This will be a real plus for passengers, who will be able to take wider cabin baggage than the current dimensions, thanks to larger 40% luggage racks. Luggage can be stored vertically.
  • USB port and tablet/smartphone holder. Lufthansa will install an individual USB port for charging mobile devices. All seats will have a special holder for tablets and smartphones. Customers will be able to watch their films and series much more comfortably.
  • New headquarters. Lufthansa has selected the seat from Italian manufacturer Geven. Its ergonomic design will offer greater comfort and, above all more legroom.

Reconfiguration of all aircraft to be completed by 2027. Lufthansa will now have to tackle its ground and after-flight services, an area which is currently attracting serious criticism from its customers...
