At a joint meeting at the end of August, the eight main French trade unions announced their intention to make the Friday 13 October a day of action on pay, gender equality and environmental protection. A movement of strike which is expected to cause numerous disruptions in the French skies between Thursday evening and Saturday morning.
As a result, the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) has asked airlines to reduce capacity on a number of platforms. Starting with Paris-Orly airport, where flight capacity is expected to be reduced by 40 %. Companies have also been asked to limit their flight schedule by 20% to Marseille-Provence and 15% to Beauvais. As delays are expected in addition to these cancellations, the DGAC is asking passengers to postpone their journeys and to check with their airline to find out the status of their flight.
Note that this strike should also affect SNCF and RATP trafficThe extent of the disruption is not yet known.
