The project had been in the pipeline since 2014, when it was announced that Union Hôtelière Parisienne, owner of the Hôtel de Vendôme on the corner of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and the famous Paris square, had been acquired. In other words, just above the Chopard boutique, both of these establishments being housed in a private mansion built in 1723 for the secretary to King Louis XIV, Pierre Perrin.

After a lengthy renovation phase led by decorator Pierre-Yves Rochon, the hotel has seen its number of rooms halved to make way for a boutique hotel with five rooms and ten suites.
