The luxurious Regent Hong Kong has regained the pre-eminent position it held for so long, standing on the edge of Victoria Harbour since the early 1980s. Quoting the ferries that cross the bay from Kowloon, the hotel became part of IHG in the mid-2010s, under the InterContinental banner. With IHG's takeover of Regent in 2018, things have come full circle, the establishment is now back under its original sign following the completion of a lengthy renovation. A new handover that gave rise to a gala worthy of the occasion, with a light show, acrobatic dances and a reception for the whole of Hong Kong in the hotel's ballroom, accommodating up to 1,000 guests.
With its ten other meeting and event rooms, the Regent should soon resume its role as the city's hub for special occasions. " By opening the doors of Regent Hong Kong, we are not only celebrating a new chapter for the brand, but also a return to the roots of luxury hotels" said Tom Rowntree, IHG's Global VP of Luxury and Lifestyle Brands. The long bay window is still there, opening onto one of the most spectacular skylines in the world. So does its iconic white marble staircase. As for the rest, the décor has been entirely redesigned by local designer Chi Wing Lo, offering a discreet luxury in line with the ongoing evolution of the Regent brand, also visible in Cannes with the transformation of the famous Carlton.
Oak and granite, serene, uncluttered spaces, places dotted around the hotel - Personal Havens - with daybeds where you can relax while gazing out over Hong Kong: the Regent is designed to be a place where you can relax and take in the sights and sounds of Hong Kong. luxury cocoonThe hotel's 497 rooms, including 129 suites, offer a host of new features. These include a new duplex presidential suite of almost 350 m² with a private terrace and infinity pool overlooking the port. However, the hotel's other guests are also entitled to a privileged place to relax, with a large outdoor swimming pool and terrace and three spa pools overlooking the port.
In terms of gastronomy, the hotel offers six experiences, ranging from the two-starred Cantonese restaurant Lai Ching Heen to the Harbourside buffets, as well as an upmarket steakhouse, a Japanese table by chef Nobu and a chic bar, Qura. On the second floor, the hotel also offers a VIP lounge accessible under certain conditions, the Regent Club. One of the hotel's exclusive offers, in addition to complimentary mini-bar items and laundry services and, of course, ultra-personalised service.

Already present in Chongqing as well as in ShanghaiAt the end of the year, the luxury brand will open a new hotel in this key metropolis, this time on the Bund. The Regent Bali Canggu is due to open in Asia in 2024.
