Here's yet another airport linked to the intercontinental network from France and Switzerland. Boosted by the economic potential of its catchment area (Alsace, Baden-Württemberg and the Basel region), l'Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse has not offered any intercontinental services for over two decades.. The airport handles over 8 million passengers a year.
This is good news for business people in the Grand Est region. From 2 August 2024, flydubai to launch scheduled flights from Euroairport to its hub in Dubai. Initially, the service will run four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, midday). Bookings can now be made on the carrier's website.
The aircraft brought into service is a single-aisle model. It is the Boeing 737 Max 8 equipped with 156 seats in economy class and 10 seats in business class. The latter features wider seats that allow passengers to lie completely flat.
The line Euroairport-Dubai to benefit from code-share agreement with Emirates. The latter is in fact a shareholder in the low-cost carrier. This code-share opens up all the destinations of both carriers from the Dubai hub. It allows access to the rest of the Middle East, the whole of Africa and, above all, the whole of Asia.
New catering facilities at the airport
Good news never comes alone, Lagardère Travel Retaila subsidiary of the group of the same name, has won the concession of five new restaurants and shops on the airport for a period of 6 years.
These shops and restaurants are due to open at the end of the first quarter.. This includes a Poulaillon bakery, a "Minute" fast-food outlet, an enlarged "Monop'daily" mini-market with a range of new products, a pop-up store for chocolate-maker Pierre Hermé and an Italian café, Bottega Prosecco Bar & Caffè.
