What is the LOT territory today?
In Europe, we serve practically every country, sometimes with two points of entry as in Italy (Milan and Rome), Spain (Barcelona and Madrid) or France (Paris and Nice). In Eastern Europe, a few suspended routes are making a comeback, such as Bratislava, Kaliningrad and Tallinn. We are also opening new routes such as Yerevan and Tbilisi, and a new destination in Asia: Hanoi. We are also present in the United States (New York, Chicago, Toronto). Finally, in the Middle East, we have returned to Damascus and Cairo, and we are still present in Tel Aviv.
And on the French market?
Today, we have an average of four flights a day from Charles-de-Gaulle to Warsaw or Krakow. And for the first time, this summer we launched a daily Nice-Warsaw flight, which will continue at a rate of four flights a week during our winter schedule. But for our French customers, Poland is not the only destination: around 20 % of our French passengers use LOT to continue their journey, via Warsaw.
There are many air competitors between France and Poland. What are your strengths?
We are a member of the Star Alliance and one of Europe's oldest airlines, founded in 1929, with recent aircraft and an efficient in-flight service. For example, in business class on the Paris-Warsaw route, passengers can choose between two hot dishes. As far as Paris is concerned, our strength lies in our timetables: the first departure to Warsaw and the last return. For a businessman, this is a great advantage.
