The airline's network Vueling continues to shrink from one season to the next. The programme of the Spanish low-cost carrier, a subsidiary of IAG, is losing almost a dozen routes for the summer of 2024, dropping to 32 destinations served from theOrly. The carrier is now a long way behind Transavia (more than 110 destinations) but is still ahead of easyJet (22 destinations).
It's a fact, With a few rare exceptions, Vueling is refocusing all its activities around the Mediterranean basin and southern Europe.. So this summer, for example, Hamburg and Copenhagen are out. Since 2022, and a "peak" of 50 destinations from OrlyVueling has closed routes in Northern Europe. This is the case in Germany with Hamburg, Leipzig and Nuremberg. But also Billund, Copenhagen and Stockholm in Denmark and Sweden.
Some iconic destinations have also disappeared in Southern Europe, such as Jerez (Cadiz), Naples, Seville or Venice. On the 32 routes operated by Vueling this summer, only Dublin, London Gatwick and Heathrow (the big news for 2024) as well as Prague point out that the carrier has operated a Europe-wide network from its Orly base in the past...
