The Radisson group is preparing to break out the champagne this summer, with the opening of its first hotel in Reims. This establishment, part of the upmarket Radisson Hotels brand, is part of the emerging new eco-neighbourhoodThis is the result of the conversion of the former Sernam Boulingrin railway site. Launched in the middle of the last decade, this city-led urban development project has already seen the opening of the UCPA Sport Station aquatic complex and the Reims Arena, due to open in spring 2022.
A new building complex has now been added just a few steps away, with 4,000 m² of office space, shops on the street and, of course, the Radisson hotel. This bow-shaped building was designed by local architects Haïku, who have already worked on transforming a former fire station into a five-star hotel, the Caserne Chanzy (Autograph Collection - Marriott), and extending the Reims exhibition centre.
With 102 rooms, the Radisson Hotel Reims is particularly well suited to business travellers, both local and visiting, with its three meeting rooms28 m², 50 m² and 80 m² for its StudioRoof. All this is in addition to a friendly and inspiring coworking space. On the restaurant side, the hotel has a bar-restaurant, Le Pop, on the ground floor, crowned by a rooftop where you can enjoy a glass of Champagne with a view of Reims and its cathedral.
In addition to its appeal to business travellers, the hotel boasts an original, theatrical décor designed by interior architect Ana Moussinet, plus a arty spirit. In collaboration with the curator Sylvie Castellani, photographs by the artist Maia Flore, highlighting the heritage of Reims and its region with humour and poetry.
This opening is supported by the hotel group that owns Alboran, which already has a presence in the city with the Mercure Reims Centre Cathédrale. A group that is preparing to expand its offering in Reims even further, since Alboran is behind another project, the first Hyatt Centric hotel in France.
Expected to open next year near the city centre, on boulevard Paul Doumer, the establishment will have 155 rooms, a lively lobby organised around a central bar, as well asalmost 400 m² of meeting spaceas well as a Champagne boutique. The Champagne town is also actively developing its hotel sector, with a new Accor hotel due to open next year under the Tribe brand, following the renovation and extension of the Hôtel de l'Univers.
