In 2022, the national carrier Croatia Airlines signed an order for 15 Airbus A220the biggest in its history. At the end of July, the Croatian national carrier took delivery of its first aircraft, which passengers from Paris-CDG 2 will be the first to be able to test. The company will be operating 9 A220 routes during August to Dubrovnik and Zagreb. Other flights are already scheduled for September. A second A220 should be delivered to the company at the end of the year, out of the three aircraft originally planned.
The aircraft also gives Croatia Airlines the opportunity to reveal a new visual identity for the company. The shapes and colours of the Croatian flag have been reinforced in the new livery. The new design, which modernises the current livery, ensures greater visibility and recognition of the brand.
The company must receive six more A220s in 2025, four in 2026 and three in 2027. Croatia Airlines will then have replaced all its existing aircraft with new ones. The arrival of the A220s will enable the airline to operate its network more energy-efficiently, reducing fuel consumption by 25 % per seat.
On board, the aircraft offer capacity fluctuating between 127 and 149 seatswhile travellers will benefit froma more comfortable cabin. The aircraft has wider seats and windows, as well as more space for hand luggage. High-speed Wi-Fi will also be available on board all aircraft.
