The Group Hilton found its first base in Germany for its new economy brand Spark by Hilton. " An important step in the brand's expansion following its successful launch and rapid growth in the United States" said Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton's Senior Vice President of Development for EMEA. Launched in September 2023Spark by Hilton has more than fifty hotels in operation in the United States, with another twenty or so on the way. Spark by Hilton, the only development outside its original territory, had also appeared in Europe to the north-east of London, in Romsford.
Designed for the transformation of existing establishments, Spark by Hilton aims to reimagining the premium economy segment. At the heart of this concept are sleek, designer rooms featuring a multi-purpose work surface, public areas with multifunctional seating, communal tables or rocking chairs, so that guests can relax or work, and a mini-market open 24 hours a day.
For the brand's debut in Germany, Hilton will be adding to its range with Stuttgartwhere the group already has four hotels. As part of a franchise agreement with the Aspire hotel group, Spark by Hilton will apply its brand name in the second half of the year to a hotel currently being renovated in Sindelfingen, a town that is home to Mercedes-Benz Museum as well as a car plant belonging to the same group.
Just a three-minute walk from the city's train station, which provides easy access to the centre of Stuttgart, and a 15-minute drive from the airport, the Spark by Hilton Stuttgart Sindelfingen offers 103 rooms for business travellers, as well as a meeting room, breakfast room and fitness centre.
At the same time, the Group's other major budget brand, Hampton by Hilton, has continued its expansion in Europe by setting up close to a key location for business travellers: London Heathrow airport. The American hotelier already had two Hiltons there - one near terminal 4, the other near terminal 5 - a Hilton Garden Inn near terminals 2 and 3, and a DoubleTree. As for the new budget hotel, it is located near the M4 motorway, 7 minutes' drive from terminals 2 and 3, and offers 157 rooms, all equipped with a desk and a 55-inch high-definition television.
