Focus - Breakdown of hotels in France

At 1 January 2011, France had some 19,000 classified hotels, with a total of 654,000 rooms, down 8,500 rooms on the previous year. This loss is due to the disappearance of more and more independent budget hotels, which has not been offset by the opening of new hotels by integrated chains.
