Contemporary and sophisticated, the first Mandarin Oriental to open in Beijing in 2019, in the Wangfujing district, was in the tradition of the great luxury hotels of the Chinese capital. The Hong Kong-based group's second establishment offers a more local but no less exclusive touch, drawing inspiration from its surroundings, a district of hutongs. Located not far from the Forbidden City, the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen has just welcomed its first guests to a complex of 42 courtyard houses decorated in the traditional style. Ranging in size from 100 m² to 400 m², the one- to three-bedroom suites all open onto a garden and private courtyard.
With its spa, Cantonese cuisine restaurant, Yan Garden, Italian restaurant Vicini and contemporary cocktail bar, Tiao, the hotel offers a drop-off point reminiscent of the Beijing of yesteryear for upmarket leisure travellers. As for teas, they are served in the intimate setting of a peaceful courtyard in the Maple lounge. But the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen also caters for corporate clients, whether in its courtyards or for special events. VIP events and meetings with two event venues: the Mandarin Palace and the Zhengyang Mansion.
Top-of-the-range event venues, the Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou At Hangzhou Centre which has just opened, is not lacking in them either. The luxury group's second hotel in the city, after the one on the banks of the West Lake, is located in a new building complex in the heart of the business district. Mixing offices, hotel and shopping mall, the Hangzhou Centre is made up of two towers linked by a podium, one of which is crowned by the Four Seasons.
Deployed from 19e to 29e On the first floor, the hotel naturally offers a view of the West Lake and, almost at the foot of the hotel, of the Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Residents of the 188 rooms and 26 suites and participants in meetings and events will enjoy this panoramic view of the city. Particularly those organised in the Sky Garden, with its outdoor lawn and platform for up to 200 guests. There is also a wide range of indoor facilities, including 2900 m² of MICE space.
Among its other assets, the Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre also has three restaurants - one Chinese, one Western and one dedicated to tea time and afterworks - a spa with indoor pool and a rooftop bar on the 30th floor. Suite guests will also be able to take advantage of an Executive Club from the end of September.
