French Polynesia's flagship airline, Air Tahiti Nuiis announcing changes to its network to better meet overall passenger demand.. From 5 January 2025, ATN to discontinue twice-weekly Paris-Seattle service.
The cessation of flights will result in a monthly capacity reduction of 2,400 seats. Flights to and from Paris will be refocused via Los Angeles.. The Californian airport is already the airline's main hub in the United States.
Opening in October 2022, the Paris-Seattle-Papeete route was seen as complementary to the route via Los Angeles. However, its passenger potential remained lower and managing two stopovers in the United States proved too costly in the end.
For the summer 2025 season starting on 29 March, the Paris-Tahiti-Paris route will return to its daily frequencies via Los Angeles with some slight adjustments to frequencies from month to month.
However, Air Tahiti Nui continues to serve the Papeete-Seattle routebut with new, adapted timetables. It includes night flights to Tahiti to optimise connections in the United States.. Flight TN52 will leave Papeete on Wednesday and Sunday at 7.00am, arriving in Seattle at 7.15pm. The return flight TN51 will leave Seattle on Wednesday and Sunday at 10.15pm, arriving in Papeete the following day at 4.40am.
The Paris-Seattle route is currently served four times a week by Delta Air Lines (Airbus A330), twice weekly by Air France (Airbus A350) and twice weekly by Air Tahiti Nui (Boeing B787 Dreamliner).
