Indeed, many airlines make free in-flight wifi access conditional on membership of the frequent flyer programme. Air Canada is joining the movement. The Canadian company has just formalised a partnership with Bell, which will enable it to offer access to Fast Wi-Fi on flights in North America and to "sun destinations" from May 2025. This will be extended to the long-haul network in 2026. Provided they join the Aeroplan frequent flyer programme.

Mark Nasr believes that Air Canada stands out in the Canadian sky: " While other Canadian airlines have also announced the deployment of toll-free Wi-Fi services, not all have accelerated the installation of this connectivity across their entire fleet, nor have they committed to offering the service across their entire network. Air Canada intends to offer fast, toll-free Wi-Fi across its fleet and will begin rolling out the service in early spring. In addition, more than 85 % aircraft in our fleet will benefit from this connectivity from the outset, and deployment on the remaining aircraft will be a priority in 2025. ".
