Strike in Belgium: Brussels airport paralysed

Brussels airport will be at a standstill this Thursday 13 February due to a major strike. Disruptions are also expected on Friday.

A strike by air traffic controllers and a national demonstration force the Belgian authorities to close down airspace altogether. This measure will start on 13 February from 6.45amand is due to be lifted at 10.15pm on Thursday evening. All flights to and from Brussels Airport are cancelled on Thursday. Airport officials warn, however, that disruption is also expected on Friday, due to the postponement of travel.

Charleroi airport (DR)

The airport of Charleroi will not escape paralysis. The people in charge of the platform say: " Following the national demonstration scheduled for Thursday 13 February in Brussels and the lack of staff present to ensure safe operations, all flights scheduled at Charleroi airport have been cancelled." .

The national demonstration aims to protest against the measures of the new federal government.
