Japan Airlines passengers connected to wifi

Japan Airlines will soon be offering business travellers the chance to work mid-flight, and more generally to enjoy the benefits of the Internet. On 15 September, the Japanese airline announced that Wi-Fi access would soon be available on its aircraft, starting in summer 2012. "The demand for an Internet connection, even in mid-flight, has been growing steadily, as our customers value the opportunity to work or stay in touch with family and friends during their journey, as well as to enjoy other forms of in-flight entertainment, especially on long journeys", explains the press release issued by Japan Airlines. A partnership with Panasonic has already been concluded, and will enable the eXConnect system to be installed on aircraft linking Japan to Europe and North America.
