From 5 October, Virgin America and its Elevate offer for frequent flyers will be joining the American Express loyalty programme, Membership Rewards. Business travellers will soon be able to transfer their points from one programme to another, although the scale is not yet known. The arrival of Virgin America Elevate within the programme should enable American Express to compensate for the departure of Continental, whose OnePass offer will leave Amex a few days earlier: on 30 September.
