Launched on Sunday 23 March, the strike at the SNCB staff affiliated to the independent trade union METISP-Protect touch travellers for one week as the strike continues until midnight on Sunday 30 March. 900,000 passengers will be affected every day of the week, with a significant reduction in the number of trains every day.

For example, on Wednesday 26 March, the SNCB indicates that 30% of IC trains will not be running - that is 7 trains out of 10. On regional lines, SNCB reports two trains out of three.
