And as you are never better served than by yourself, Accor has laid the foundation stone for the platform by publishing the results of a survey on the expectations of hotel customers in terms of sustainable development. Carried out by Ifop among 7,000 hotel guests in six countries (Germany, Australia, Brazil, China, France and the United Kingdom), this study shows that the theme is beginning to take root in the minds of hotel guests, nearly 8 out of 10 of whom say that they would like to see their hotels become more sustainable. "declare that you know and understand the concept of sustainable development".Ifop notes, "a greater appetite for the subject among business customers".. 51% of customers say they take "often" or "always take sustainable development into account when choosing a hotel. Similarly, if a hotel implements actions or services in favour of sustainable development, 68 % of customers accept that it is less well located, and 66 % accept that it is more expensive or less comfortable.
But as Accor rightly points out, these are "results that need to be qualified, clearly indicating that it is now politically incorrect to declare oneself insensitive to this issue"..
