Next autumn, the 17 October exactly, Bergerac will take on a new dimension on the events scene in the New AquitaineThis is what our colleagues at Déplacements Pros have spotted. The Etincelle space will then be inaugurated with great fanfare and a concert, before hosting more studious MICE operations throughout the year. The new centre will replace the Salle Anatole France, which was deemed "obsolete and unsuitable" and was therefore demolished two years ago.

Frédéric Delmarès, Chairman of the Communauté d'Agglomération Bergeracoise (CAB) and Mayor of Creysse, wrote in the institution's magazine: " To embody an attractive, bold and forward-looking CAB, we have decided to create an Events Centre in place of the Anatole France Hall, which is far too energy-consuming. It's an ambitious project, but one that meets a real need. After two years of work, we look forward to inaugurating it together on 17 October. ".

It will have taken two years of work and an investment of some €14 million. A necessary effort, according to the local councillors, who have identified a real need for such an infrastructure. The aim is "to be able to host major events that are currently out of the reach of Bergerac and sometimes the Dordogne, thanks to new services and modularity".

Versatility will be one of the major assets of the Centre Etincelle, as demonstrated by the conference area in room 1, whose capacity (300 seats) can be increased thanks to modular partitions and retractable bleachers. Rooms 2 and 3 have a capacity of 70, while Room 4 has a capacity of 120. The auditorium, with its 500 m² stage - which will be occupied by DJ The Avener for the inaugural evening - can accommodate up to 2,800 people. " The CAB's elected representatives wanted a hybrid, modular facility capable of hosting professional events and seminars, as well as cultural events and live performances. "say those in charge of the project.
