Barcelo: first hotel in France, just outside Paris

The Spanish group Barcelo is making its entry into France by taking over a hotel close to Paris, in the heart of the Levallois-Perret business district, with 338 rooms and a vast MICE area.

The Barcelo Group is establishing its first key foothold in France, particularly for business travellers to the Paris region. The Spanish hotelier has just bought the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Levallois-Perret for €70 million, at the heart of the Front de Seine business district with almost 170,000 m² of office space between La Défense and the Palais des Congrès.

The hotel, which enjoys strong corporate demand as a result, was previously owned by the Taiwanese conglomerate Evergreen. It has now been renamed Occidental Paris LevalloisThe hotel is operated under the top-of-the-range Occidental Hotels brand. According to the Barceló Hotel Group, the hotel has " strong potential for repositioning "Thanks to its proximity to line 3 of the metro, which provides easy access to the centre of Paris, this hotel can attract a leisure clientele. However, it is particularly aimed at business customers, with 338 rooms, including 17 suites, and a strong MICE offering.

L'Occidental Paris Levallois offers almost 700 m² of meeting and event space, including ten modular meeting rooms for up to 400 people. There is also an executive lounge and, not least, 105 secure underground parking spaces. The hotel also offers a bar-restaurant, a fitness room and a wellness area.

This opening is part of the international development plan of Spain's second-largest hotel group.
