The international airport ofAuckland is preparing to host the next business showcase forAir New Zealand. The company unveiled the first details on 28 Julyalready promising the most spacious lounge on the Air New Zealand network.
According to Air New Zealand's roadmap, work will begin in early 2026. This will result in a reduction in the capacity of the current lounge (around 2,000 m²), which will nevertheless remain open during the transformation.
Eventually, the airline's lounge offering will be split into two, with one area for Airpoints Elite and Business Premier customers, and another for Airpoints Gold, Star Alliance Gold, Airpoints Silver and Koru members. The new surface area will total 3,700 m², with an additional 1,700 m². Among the new features expected for business travellers, Air New Zealand promises several work areas including private rooms and individual cabins for concentration.
Management plans to unveil further details of this Koru Lounge later this year. But the CEO of Air New Zealand has already spoken out about the project: " We've designed our new lounges with what matters most to our customers in mind: more space, more seating and the ability to choose how they want to spend their time. "says Greg Foran. " Total seating capacity in both lounges will increase by 70 %, significantly improving comfort and capacity for international travellers passing through Auckland. Throughout the lounges, spaces designed to meet the needs of a diverse customer base will be created.
