The figures published on 31 October by the International Air Transport Association (IATAIndeed, IATA has noted a significant increase in passenger traffic (+5.6%) for the month of September compared to the same period in 2010, and the growth recorded in August (+4.6%). But, as you will have gathered, the leitmotif at the start of the new year can be summed up in one phrase: "cautiously optimistic". Tony Tyler, head of IATA, refers to "a pleasant surprise", while adding: "We are still expecting a general slowdown in passenger traffic towards the end of the year".
