The 10,000 hotel mark is within sight for the Hilton group. With three openings a day, the American hotelier has gone from 8,000 to 9,000 establishments in the space of a year. And there is no doubt that it will be able to maintain this rate of growth in the weeks and months ahead, to reach five figures sooner or later. " With only 5 % of the world's existing rooms and 21 % of rooms under construction, Hilton has a tremendous opportunity to grow its portfolio well beyond 9,000 hotels. "said Christian Charnaux, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of the Group.
In the meantime, the conversion of the La Cantera resort, near San Antonio in Texas, to its Signia by Hilton brand, focused on MICE, has enabled it to reach this milestone. With 496 rooms and 34 villas, nine catering options, five swimming pools, a golf course and, above all, a meeting area of almost 10,000 m² divided into 40 meeting rooms, including two ballrooms, the resort is ideally suited to major events.
But the American group's development is not just focused on its original home, where two-thirds of the group's hotels are located. Other symbolic frontiers have been crossed in recent months. At the end of 2024, Hilton unveiled its 1,000th hotel in the Asia-Pacific region, while the 1,000 mark was passed a little later, in the spring of 2025, for the Europe-Middle East-Africa zone. Not to mention other milestones on a national scale, such as the 200e hotel in Canada or the 100e in Italy. This international presence will be further strengthened in the months and years ahead, as the American group has set itself the clear objectives of increasing its presence in India, tripling its portfolio on the African continent and quadrupling its offer in Saudi Arabia, as well as exceeding 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels in Asia-Pacific.
