Lufthansa Group and Amadeus have found the "miracle" technological solution that will dramatically simplify the booking and management of flights for business travellers.

The emphasis is on the introduction of an "Order ID", a new identification number which will gradually replace the old reservation and ticket numbers and will group together all the elements of a journey.

This includes the flight, reserved seats, baggage and additional services such as upgrades or lounge access. This consolidation replaces the previous separate reservation systems and offers Lufthansa Group a complete overview of their trip.

"The Lufthansa Group is a pioneer in modern airline marketing. We are delighted to be working with Amadeus to develop and implement innovative ordering technology to further enhance our customers' travel experience."explains Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Executive Vice President Strategy, Lufthansa Group.

Standardisation will enable passengers to reschedule their journeys more quickly and easily in future, add services to their bookings or change their travel plans at short notice - particularly in the event of irregularities or flight changes. With just one click, they will receive alternative solutions and other important information about their journey.

This new technological basis also creates greater transparency for passengers: in future, they will be able to see more easily what services are included in their booking and what additional options are available.

The new Order ID is being introduced gradually on several Lufthansa Group airlines and complements existing services such as Travel ID, which will continue to display the personal customer profile.
