Turbulence ahead at Lufthansa the German company will have to manage a vast movement of strike last-minute call on Thursday 12 July. The pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) launched its call on Tuesday. According to its leaders, "This industrial action will disrupt all flights departing from German airports between 00:01 and 23:59 local time".
"We would have much preferred to avoid any escalation," says Andreas Pinheiro, president of the VC union. "We have always been open to dialogue and have tried on several occasions to move negotiations forward. If this strike goes ahead, it's the employer's responsibility.
