Singapore Airlines (SIA) will become the first international airline to launch daily non-stop flights between Singapore and the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) from 23 November 2026. The airline will operate the route with Airbus A350-900s configured with 303 seats in two classes: 40 in Business Class and 263 in Economy Class.
The inaugural flight, SQ201, is scheduled to leave Singapore at 11.30am (local time) on 23 November 2026 and arrive at 10.20pm (local time). The return flight, SQ202, will depart Western Sydney International Airport on the same day at 23:55 (local time) and arrive in Singapore at 05:05 (local time) on 24 November 2026.
SIA will increase its presence to 5 daily services: one to and from Western Sydney and four to Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport. Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: "Singapore Airlines' services to Western Sydney will provide more choice and connectivity to this popular destination for our customers. This is particularly important given the late departure slots from Western Sydney.
With the addition of Western Sydney International, SIA will serve eight destinations in Australia. These are Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney (Kingsford Smith) and Sydney (Western Sydney). Scoot, SIA's low-cost subsidiary, serves three Australian destinations (Melbourne, Perth and Sydney).
Western Sydney is part of the Greater Sydney region, home to over three million people and Australia's third largest economy. It is a gateway to the natural landscapes of the Blue Mountains and Western New South Wales, as well as to the region's cultural and culinary diversity and many adventure experiences in the heart of Sydney's Olympic legacy.
Tickets to Western Sydney International went on sale on 25 March. In addition to Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand has announced the launch of daily flights to Auckland from 2027.
