The social and economic context could well have an impact on Air France's services to Corsica. In any case, this is what the daily Les Echos suggests, stating in its 5 January edition: "According to our information, Air France has announced to its partner Air Corsica its intention to stop handling its stopover flights from 1 April". This decision will logically be influenced by the appeal ruling of the professional magistrates on 14 February. The first court ruling obliged the airline to appoint 45 staff on fixed-term contracts, while Air France is citing an overstaffing situation on the island of Corsica.
