Following in the footsteps of Nice, Bordeaux and Brussels, all of which recently published unprecedented results, Geneva airport is reporting very positive results for the past year. 13,130,222 passengers used the Swiss airport, resulting in stronger growth in terms of passenger numbers (+10.52) than traffic, even though the number of operations also increased in 2011 (+6.61%). These increases are all the more welcome given that the future looks set to be more difficult for the Swiss hub: "The good health shown by Geneva Airport at the end of 2011 means that it can look forward with confidence to a year 2012 that promises to be more difficult for all players in the aviation sector, with growth likely to slow considerably", warn the airport's management.
