Strike action starting Tuesday at northern airports

Air traffic controllers in northern France are due to strike on 17 and 18 January, threatening business travel to and from the region.

Some forty air traffic controllers in charge of traffic in the Nord Pas-de-Calais and Somme regions are threatening to go on strike on Tuesday and Wednesday to demand an increase in staff numbers to cope with the rise in traffic. In addition to Lille airport, all regional air traffic would be affected, since management is centralised by the Lesquin control tower: Calais and Valenciennes airports should therefore also be affected.
