France will be one of the major beneficiaries of a significant expansion of Air Canada's network next spring.
Air Canada It plans to increase its international capacity by more than 8% compared with summer 2026. Its schedule will include more than 125 international routes, with up to 169,000 seats per week connecting Canada to more than 85 destinations in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America, the Caribbean and Central America.
Among the new routes, two are of particular interest to the French and Swiss markets: a direct flight between Toronto and Nice, as well as a Montreal-Basel-Mulhouse service.
The Toronto-Nice route will operate twice a week from 16 June to 23 October 2027.
Flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This new route will complement the seasonal service already offered between Montreal and Nice.
Air Canada will thus have a strengthened offering to the Côte d'Azur, with potentially a daily service between Canada and Nice during the summer season.
Switzerland will also benefit from Air Canada’s summer 2027 flight schedule with a new Montreal–Basel-Mulhouse route. The route will be operated four times a week starting from 16 June 2027, using an Airbus A321XLR. Return flights will begin on 17 June.
Air Canada will become the only North American airline to serve eastern France as well as the three main Swiss cities: Zurich, Geneva and Basel.
A French and Swiss network already well-established
Air Canada currently serves several French cities directly from Canada. From Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, the airline offers flights to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Regionally, the Canadian carrier serves Montreal from Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse and, as of this year, Nantes with a seasonal route.
In Switzerland, Air Canada’s network currently includes Geneva-Montreal, Geneva-Toronto, Zurich-Toronto, and Zurich-Vancouver.
Note that the airline has also announced new routes from Toronto to Oslo and Shannon (Ireland) as well as from Montreal to Dubrovnik. Finally, from Vancouver, Air Canada will offer a new year-round route to Guangzhou next spring.
