A personal accident that occurred this Tuesday, 8 September at around 07:00 near Fresnoy-le-Luat, in the Oise department, is heavily disrupting traffic on the Northern high-speed line (LGV). According to SNCF Voyageurs, traffic is « severely disrupted in both directions »between Paris and Arras. SNCF Réseau stated that trains are being diverted via the conventional line while the emergency services and police carry out their investigations.
Shortly before 9 a.m., several high-speed trains were running three to four hours late at Paris and Lille stations. Furthermore, several services were cancelled at the very beginning of the morning. The disruptions are also affecting Eurostar services between Paris, London, Amsterdam and Brussels, meaning business travellers using this route face postponed meetings or international connections.
A gradual resumption late in the morning
