Dubai's hotel industry moves towards world leadership

Dubai's hotel industry is definitely not in the doldrums. Quite the contrary: the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced at the ITB trade fair in Berlin that it was the world's leading destination at the start of 2012.

With an occupancy rate of 86.21TP3Q, and a RevPAR of 232.7 dollars, Dubai's hotel sector was the world leader in January 2012. Dubai is ahead of other business destinations, including Hong Kong, Sydney, London, Tokyo and Paris. For the past two years, Dubai's hotel industry has ranked seventh in the international rankings.
