On Tuesday 20 March, Air Berlin officially joined the Oneworld alliance, which now comprises eleven airlines.

Integrating the company Air Berlin in the Oneworld networkThe partnership, which has been official for several months, takes effect on 20 March. It is accompanied by the arrival of the Niki subsidiary as an affiliate member. Oneworld's arrival in Germany via the country's second largest airline should enable it to significantly increase its presence in Central and Southern Europe. Air Berlin will enhance the airline alliance's offer by adding 70 destinations to the network, which now covers 840 destinations in some 150 countries. This new integration is being celebrated this Tuesday at the new Berlin Brandenburg airport, which is due to open on 3 June.
