The Hôtel de Crillon is about to embark on a renovation phase that will force the symbol of the French hotel industry to close its doors temporarily next autumn. Two years of work will then be needed to give the establishment a facelift. "By drawing on its history, respecting its traditions and preserving its soul, this renovation will enable the Hôtel de Crillon to regain its splendour and consolidate its place among the world's most prestigious palaces", the hotel's management promises in a press release, referring to "profound transformations". The exact date of closure has not yet been announced.
