Trivago barometer: price rises in European hotels

The trivago Hotel Price Index (tHPI) published on 19 April shows price rises in several European cities, including Paris, where the average price of a standard double room is 12% higher than in April 2011.

Following the example of its European neighbours, Parisian hotel prices are on the rise: according to the latest trivago Hotel Price Index (tHPI), the average price is 181 euros, up on last year and March (+9%). London has not been spared, approaching the €200 mark (+6% to €197). The rise is even more marked in southern Europe, with Rome recording a double-digit increase over one month (+27% to 162 euros), and Madrid posting a nightly rate of 108 euros (+8%) in April.
