This is surely just the beginning, or at least the latest stage in an offensive that American Airlines intends to expand. This week, the American carrier launched its assault on Manaus, the largest city in Amazonia. It will now operate a daily service by B737-800, which business travellers will be able to take advantage of from Roissy airport, via the airline's hub in Florida. This is just the beginning, since American Airlines has already applied to the relevant authorities for the addition of new frequencies, which should concern the Miami-Rio de Janeiro, New York-Sao Paulo, Miami-Recife and Miami-Salvador de Bahia routes, starting next October.
