Lufthansa cabin crew are threatening to strike soon, which could seriously disrupt traffic at the German airline. The UFO union, which is spearheading the action, has nearly 10,000 employees and is due to announce its decision in the next few days. It is demanding pay rises and job guarantees. Although negotiations are continuing with the airline's management, the outcome of the dispute appears to be blocked. A vote held during the summer by UFO saw the strike movement win almost unanimously, and the union's leaders have been particularly pessimistic in their latest statements.
