A few days after Xiamen Airlines joined the Skyteam fold, it is now Star Alliance's turn to strengthen its positions in the Middle Kingdom. Shenzhen Airlines and its portfolio of 70 destinations officially joined Lufthansa and co. on 29 November. The airline adds five new destinations to the Star Alliance network - Juzhou, Linyi, Qinhuangdao, Shijiazhuang and Zhoushan - and brings the number of alliance members to 27. "We know that no single airline can meet the needs of international travellers today," said Feng Gang, Chairman of Shenzhen Airlines. We are proud to announce that Shenzhen Airport, serving China's fourth largest city, is now the new Star Alliance hub from which we will leave our mark, not only in China, but throughout the Asia Pacific region".
